Make a difference.

For a career with a difference, think about becoming a support worker with Huntercombe. Our support workers say that every working day is different from the last. One day a support worker might be helping a teenager in a wheelchair to fly through the air on a zipwire; another might be helping a stroke patient to achieve his goal of dressing himself. Huntercombe make a difference to the lives of children and adults with complex needs such as mental health conditions, learning disabilities or brain injuries. As a support worker at Huntercombe, you will be part of an amazing team that can literally transform lives.

You’ll be blown away by how inspiring our patients and residents are – and by the part you played in their recovery. If you join us, we can offer you a stable role with a good wage and other benefits. But we can also offer you a whole lot more.

Join us as a support worker

Huntercombe support workers work in fantastic teams with nurses, doctors and other experts to help people with mental health conditions, learning disabilities or brain injuries.

Support workers work closely with patients and residents, helping them with their daily routines, as well as supporting them with various activities and helping them work towards their individual goals and ambitions.  The compassion and care that they provide play a crucial role in the recovery and rehabilitation of people we care for.

If you’ve worked as a carer before, you’ll know how rewarding it is when you put a smile on someone’s face. At Huntercombe, our support workers make a difference to people’s lives every day.

If you don’t have experience working in care before, but have a good way with people, are understanding and patient and would describe yourself as warm and compassionate, and want to spend your hours at work doing something incredibly meaningful – you might just have what it takes.  Please get in touch, we would like to hear from you.

Our new support workers are well supported on joining Huntercombe.  Those who are new to care all complete a 12 week programme as part of their induction, in which they are helped to the skills and experience they need for the role (and the completion of a recognised Care Certificate).  After that, we offer ongoing training and development and an opportunity to take on different roles within the services.

A career at Huntercombe is varied, we’ve got roles all over the country in different kinds of hospitals and care homes.
